This is the second tutorial in our series of tutorials.
This tutorial teaches you how to create a category and a forum for the community and also set up community permissions.


You will be creating a new category, forum, and a new permission. Then you will set up the permissions for the category and the forum.

Login to your admin panel and navigate to the manage categories button and click it. You will be redirected to the manage categories section.

Click the create a new category button.

You will be redirected to a forum where you will have to enter the name of the category, and select the permission. Select any of the permissions available depending on how much visibility you want to set for your category. Then Click the Create Category button to proceed.

You will be redirected to the manage categories section where you will now see the new category listed listed.
Now go back to the admin panel by click in the Admin Control Panel button in the main menu.

Now click the Manage Forums button in the admin panel.

Click the create a new forum button.

You will be redirected to a form. Fill the form completely and click the create forum button to create the forum.

When the forum has been created you will be redirected back to the manage forum section where you will now see your new forum listed.

Now navigate to the main menu and click the community button to go to the community. Depending on your permissions (you as the admin have access to all areas of the website, and are not restricted by the permissions) set you will see the new category and the new forum

Now you can see the new category and the new forum in the community.


Now we will create a new permission for you to use with your category and forum.

Go back to the admin control panel and click the manage permissions button.

Click the add a new permission button in the manage permissions section.

Enter the name of the permissions and select either allow or do not allow under the user type to allow that user group access. Then click the create permission button.

You will be redirected to the manage permissions section where you will see the new permission listed.
Then go back to the admin panel by clicking the admin control panel button in the main menu.

Navigate to the manage categories button and click it.

Click the edit link of the category that you want to set the permission for.

You will be redirected to the page where you can edit the category. Select the new permission from the drop down menu and click update category button.

You will be redirected back to the manage category section where you can see the updated category listed.

Now go back to the admin panel and click the manage forum button to.

Click the edit link of the forum that you want to set the permission for.

You will be redirected to the page where you can edit the forum. Select the new permission from the drop down menu and click update forum button.

You will be redirected back to the manage forum section where you can see the updated forum listed.
